TAI Madrid School of the Arts has become the top independent center to offer undergraduate art degrees in Spain. As a center affiliated with the Rey Juan Carlos University, it is the only place in Spain where five official undergraduate degrees, several official and professional postgraduate degrees and other professional training programmes such as certificates and intensive courses in the arts are all offered under one roof.

Celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, TAI is passionate about the value of arts education, which it promotes in two principal directions: as a focus of social transformation, and as a generator of new multi-faceted professional profiles that are in high demand in the new labor market of the globalized, digital economy.

The TAI methodology focuses on workshop learning and training in a professional trade led by the best teachers. Its ultimate objective is to guarantee the employment potential of art and creative professions. In fact, in 2016, the first phase of a TAI study has shown that more than 80% of a large sample of students enrolled since 2000 are currently working.

This model has generated an educational community around TAI as well as a community of artists numbering more than 20,000 and including teachers, experts, students, alumni, related professionals… from more than 30 countries around the world. At TAI, there are currently more than 200 teachers that are also professionals in their industry teaching about 300 classes per week and leading more than 500 workshops a year. David Lynch, David Fincher, John Waters, Spike Jonze, Kenny Werner, and Julie Delpy are just some of the figures who have shared their mastery and experience in TAI’s Master Classes.

TAI is located in the center of Madrid (Calle Recoletos 22), next to Puerta de Alcalá. This is an outstanding location, with Madrid as the cultural and artistic epicentre of Spain, full of theatres, exhibition halls, cinemas, museums, art galleries, concert venues… The newly-renovated TAI building has more than 8,000 square meters dedicated to Art, and is equipped with the latest technological advances used in artistic and academic production.
